Caring for your butcher block table is essential to maintain its beauty and longevity. Here's how to keep your butcher block in top condition:

Clean your butcher block regularly with mild soap and warm water, wiping it down with a damp cloth and drying it immediately to prevent water damage. For deeper cleaning, use a mixture of vinegar and water or lemon juice and salt to naturally disinfect the surface. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage the wood. To maintain the wood's moisture and prevent cracking, apply food-grade mineral oil or beeswax every few weeks, or more frequently for newer blocks. If your butcher block develops minor scratches or stains, you can sand them out gently with fine-grit sandpaper and re-oil the area. For cutting surfaces, use both sides of the block to ensure even wear. Always use cutting boards for raw meats to prevent bacterial growth in the wood. With proper care, your butcher block countertop will develop a rich patina over time, becoming more beautiful and durable with age.
